•Material price: The price of the material also greatly affects the final cost.
•Structure and size: the more complex the product structure, the higher the processing cost; if the overall size of the product is large or the appearance is curved shape, the processing cost will also rise much.
•Post-processing process: the more hand board tolerances and surface treatment requirements the price will also increase accordingly.
Tips on how to reduce the cost of CNC machining hand samples:
•Change the right angle of the inner angle to a rounded angle
Due to the cylindrical shape of the tool, it is impossible to machine a perfect 90° inside angle. It is recommended to change the right angle edges to rounded corners, which will save machining time and correspondingly save cost. If you need the inner right angle you need to hit the spark or manual cleaning angle and other secondary processing.
Note: You can design the inner corners of the product as rounded corners, and the larger the R angle, the better and cheaper it is.
•Deep hole
Deep holes or deep places are more difficult to gong, easy to have the phenomenon of the popping knife
Too deep places CNC may not be gong.
Note: The best length to depth ratio is 4:1.
•Tolerance
The tighter the tolerance the higher the risk, the higher the price.
•Thin-walled features
Thin walls are difficult to machine, and the principle is the same as that of deep holes, which can be easily ejected.
•Tapping
The more threads tapped in a part, the more expensive it is; the deeper the threads are, the more expensive it is.
Note: The most reasonable ratio of diameter to length is 3:1 when choosing a common standard thread.
•Cutting tool
Choose a standard tool - for example, a metric diameter of 0.5mm, 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm...
If your feature or hole is not designed in this way, for example, your diameter hole is 1.75mm then machining becomes a bit more difficult.
•Selection of materials
Use low hardness, common, ordinary material. Hard material on the machine wear and tear, and the gong speed is slow.
For example: aluminum 6061 than 6061 T6 cheaper, cheaper material, processing is also cheaper.
•Surface treatment
There are many types of surface treatments, and the more treatment requirements there are, the more the price will increase.
The more surface treatments required, the higher the price will be accordingly.
•Dismantled Parts
In some cases, cost savings can be achieved if complex products are broken down into fragmented components.
•Batch orders
Bulk production, with more quantity, the price will be reduced accordingly
